By participating in Sam's Fans 5k you will be helping to bring more music and art therapy to kids in children's hospitals as well as kids who are homebound because of long term illnesses.
Sam's Fans 5k was started in memory of Samantha McCarthy who passed away at the age of 11. Sam's life was full love, love for her family and friends and the things around her. She particularly loved music and art and used it as a way of escaping her pain and bringing her much comfort. Those she left behind still find comfort in the music she enjoyed, wether it is escaping our own pain of loss or remembering the good times we had with her. Sam was always thinking of others and as we move forward and carry on her legacy we feel comforted knowing she would be happy to share her love of music and art with kids who need peace and comfort in an uncertain world of hospitals and illness.
